Turkish sofra for ischta

We created our very first sofra project with ischta. Sofra, also known as “yer sofrası” is not only a very traditional but also a comfortable way to enjoy food in the Mediterranean. It is traditionally a low table or tray used as a dining table where you sit on the floor while eating. Hürriyet from Botanic Art joined us in this project with her beautiful floral installations. The four of us have the same heritage (Turkish roots, living in Berlin) — all together we prepared a dreamy and magical breakfast with melted cheese called “muhlama” and homemade flat bread. This classic Turkish breakfast was such a beautiful way to enjoy a day together and to escape from everyday life for a few hours and dive into a world with a great Mediterranean atmosphere.
