Şekerpare for ischta
Şekerpare is a classic childhood dessert, prepared for special occasions such as Eid or birthday gatherings. It is a soft and tender semolina cookie soaked in sugar syrup, a simple and delicious dessert that is also filled, for us, with nostalgia. Our mom would usually prepare this for us a day in advance, to enjoy with family and friends on holidays. Due to its quick and easy preparation, it is a popular go-to recipe in the Turkish kitchen. We gave it a little spicy twist in adding a few cloves to the syrup, if you prefer the classic version, feel free to leave it out.
