Garden rose shoot for ischta
Growing up, we encountered rose water in our childhood in various ways, in forms such as rose jam, flavored helva, in lokum (Turkish delight) or as a refreshing rose drink during our summer vacations in Türkiye. In this series we produced rose water, rose jam and a few drinks for ischta. We collected these beautiful organic roses from our own garden in Berlin and created a wonderful spread. Ezgi Polat took these breathtaking images.
Since ancient times, roses have been utilized as not only a nutritional, but also medical source, as well as in perfumes and cosmetics. The world's top rose water producer is Iran and it is being used in many cultures and countries such as Turkey, France, Hungary, Morocco and India.
